Over the last couple of weeks, I have been looking into Google Apps. There is much to offer to improve business efficiency and inner office communication.
I had played briefly with Amazon Cloud Services and even created an account and MySQL database. Having looked at and played with both, I think Google will prevail in this battle.
I like the idea of all my data being under one roof. It makes it dead easy to find things, improving even my efficiency. Using LastPass for password management helped a great deal, but things were getting unwieldy with my own accounts and all of our general office accounts.
Over the last few days, we have started pulling things together and merging accounts. It’s very time-consuming since data must often be copied down and back up to the Google servers. We tried to merge accounts, but Google in most cases simply did not allow it.
The Tomahawk website was also redeveloped, as was the OperationsCommander (aka. ParkAdmin) website.
So all in all, not a lot of time for side projects, but I am looking forward to getting back at it.
